What is Technology?

The word ‘Technology’ is related with many similar words like- ‘Technical’, ‘Technique’. Technical is connected with the practical use of machinery, methods, etc. in science and industry. It is also connected with the skills needed for a practical job, sport, art, etc. The person related to Technical field is called as Technician. Technique is the particular way of doing something especially one in which you have to learn special skills. The combined use of these two words is so called as ’Technology’. It is the scientific knowledge used in practical ways in industry, for example in designing new machines.
Before 200 years ago no one even thought of any sort of technology to be used. There were neither any phones, vehicles, machines, etc. to use. Peoples used to be suffering from those kinds of daily works. They have to work harder and harder, for sending messages it takes couple of days, and to travel some distance it’s just an impossible. All these kind of problems were in other countries before 200 yrs. But in the case of Nepal, still today such things happen in some of the rural villages. Just imagine how back we Nepalese are from the running world?
In other developed countries, people at the past were intelligent about happening. We have been learning from our junior class that, people saw the fish swimming and started thinking about that and one day it came true. They first cut the big and large trees and used them as a boat. As day passed, that cut piece boat slowly developed into metal and well developed water ways. Do you know the water ways was the first distant travelling that was used? Likewise those people had more creativity and thinking power. By seeing the fishes swim in the water they created boats that turned into cargos and big ships. Likewise there is another interesting story related with the same thing. Once some people were travelling. They felt tired and hungry so they rested under an apple tree. Suddenly eyes went on a red and tasty apples hanging on the tree. They took some stones and began throwing at apples. Some hit the apples and fell down. But they failed to catch them up. They were shocked, when they saw the apples are rolling down and down. Then an idea came on their mind. They cut some wood and made a big tyre like something. They used some animals that were strong like bulls, buffaloes, horses, and many others. Like this they were able to make something to travel in land. This was just the beginning of the development. Slowly these animal vehicle turned bicycle, cars, buses, motor bikes.
Another fact is that, they saw the birds flying in the sky. If the birds can fly, then why can’t human fly? they thought. They wished if humans can also fly like birds in the sky. Their wished came true. Wright Brothers first invented a simple plane that could fly in the air. After many failures, they succeed to fly themselves in the air. When the first flight was taken it could not fly higher and long time. When second time it was flown it went higher and higher and for long distant than before. Along with the days passing out, airplanes, helicopters and other fast jets were developed. The graphs that shows the progressive increment of the development of the technology from 17th century to till now.
Is it a coincident or some other thing, what people wished it came true? For washing clothes washing machine were developed. Today we can find washing machine with drier inside it. There is not needed of sunlight also. What a technology today we have. For writing we had type writer but today we have more advanced computer and printer.
There are different seasons in a year. Some season hot and some season cold. On keeping mind air conditioners, heater, and refrigerators were invented. Before people used pigeons for message sending. Today we have telephones and mobiles. It is easier to talk with far distant friends in just with a touch. In short we can say the development of technology is making our lives easier and easier.
